In his capacity as president of entertainment, Abboushi will be responsible for leading MGM Resorts’ comprehensive programming and operational strategy.

His duties will span venue utilisation, talent booking, show development, and management of key partnerships.

Additionally, Abboushi is expected to drive the development of scalable, branded entertainment offerings that can be adapted across MGM Resorts’ various properties globally.

The company emphasised the significance of this leadership change as part of its broader initiative to enhance the intersection of live entertainment, sports, art, and immersive experiences across its resorts.

Ari Kastrati, MGM Resorts’ chief content, hospitality and development officer, highlighted Abboushi’s extensive background and leadership capabilities as pivotal to realising this vision.

Prior to ing MGM Resorts, Abboushi spent 16 years at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the most influential agencies in the entertainment and sports industries.

During his tenure, he played a central role in packaging and selling a wide range of films, television projects, and specials.

He was also instrumental in the career development of a number of high-profile clients, including actors and entertainers such as T.J. Miller, Dave Franco, Miles Teller, Eva Longoria, Natasha Leggero, and Demi Lovato, working alongside fellow agent Rachel Rusch.

Abboushi’s move to MGM Resorts marks a notable shift from the agency side of the industry to a corporate leadership role in live entertainment programming and strategy.

His experience at CAA has given him a broad perspective on content development and talent relationships, which will be directly applicable to the responsibilities he now assumes at MGM Resorts.

MGM Resorts emphasising role in entertainment

From hosting headline residencies and major concerts to producing award-winning shows and immersive experiences, MGM Resorts is a major player in live events and experiential entertainment, but wants to expand its role in the sector.

With Abboushi at the helm of entertainment strategy, MGM Resorts aims to consolidate its programming efforts across its venues and develop new, innovative experiences that appeal to diverse audiences.

The company’s entertainment portfolio includes partnerships with leading production companies and entertainment brands, a range of top-tier performance venues, and frequent collaborations with major recording artists, comedians, and theatrical productions.

The new appointment comes at a time when MGM Resorts is expanding its focus on experiential content and integrated resort offerings that combine hospitality, gaming, and entertainment into a cohesive guest experience.

Abboushi’s arrival is expected to play a key role in accelerating these efforts and refining MGM’s strategic positioning within the entertainment sector.

His first priorities will likely include evaluating the current entertainment programming across MGM properties and establishing new talent partnerships.

In addition, he’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities for brand-aligned, multi-platform content experiences that can enhance guest engagement and attract broader demographics.

Abboushi is set to officially assume his role on 16 June.
